Artisanal Bakery for Refugees
Tabassum Din
Interior Architecture
An artisanal bakery based in Middlesbrough, that puts refugees at the forefront of the brand. Dinakery has three main uses; baking, teaching, and accommodating customers to dine in. The concept of the bakery is to bring a sense of inclusivity into Middlesbrough, through hiring and teaching refugees the skills of the trade. Through research, it was apparent that the lack of jobs for refugees was high, thus aiming this project at refugees and striving for inclusivity. The use of neutral tones with hints of green from foliage were used throughout the building which symbolises nature, comfort, and wholeness which is fitting for the brand and its values.
